“Zootopia” tops $1 billion in box office revenue

“Zootopia” has surpassed $1 billion worldwide in just 17 days, making it the fastest PG-rated film to reach the milestone.

The animated film is the third to gross more than $1 billion this year, joining Disney's Lilo & Stitch ($1.03 billion) and Chinese animated hit Neeja 2 ($1.9 billion). Neeja 2 is currently the highest-grossing film of 2025. Only 13 animated films in the history of cinema have grossed more than $1 billion worldwide, and 10 of those were Disney releases.

Jared Bush, creative director of Walt Disney Animation Studios, said of the film's success: "The entire Disney Animation team literally poured their heart, soul, and passion into this film. We wanted to give audiences a story that was full of joy, imagination, and depth."
