During the World Summit on "Investing in Child Well-being: A Path Toward Sustainable and Equitable Development for Future Generations," held in Samarkand, a Global Network for supporting children suffering from severe and life-threatening illnesses was established. Ziroat Mirziyoyeva, the First Lady of Uzbekistan, was elected to chair this organization for a two-year term. The Global Network brings together First Ladies and spouses of heads of state, serving to support children affected by serious illnesses—including cancer—while fostering international cooperation and the exchange of experience.
