"Yunusabad" and "Turkistan" stations of the Tashkent metro line Yunusabad will be closed for 4 months. This was reported by the metropolitan press service.

It is reported that these stations have been serving passengers for almost 3 years. Based on world experience, in order to ensure the safety of metro trains and passengers, as well as to provide quality service, it is necessary to carry out planned preventive works after the underground metro tunnels and stations have been in operation for a certain period of time.

In this regard, the "Turkistan" and "Yunusabad" stations of the Yunusabad route will be closed for 4 months starting from August 26, 2023, and planned preventive works will be carried out during this period.

For information, the first stage of the Yunusabad route, after its launch in 2001, was closed for 3 months in 2002 for planned preventive works.

Also, trains will continue to run normally between "Shahristan" and "Mingorik" stations, and the interval time (interval) of trains in this direction will be reduced to 5 minutes.

In order not to cause inconvenience to the passengers of the Tashkent metro, large-capacity buses (metrobus) will run free of charge between the metro stations "Turkistan" - "Yunusabad" - "Shahriston". The daily working hours of these buses are from 06:00 in the morning to 00:00 at night.

"We apologize to the passengers for the inconvenience," the report said.

124 new jobs were created when the new "Yunusabad" and "Turkiston" stations on the Yunusabad route of the Tashkent metro became operational. The construction of the project was stopped in 2001. After the construction of the stations "Mingorik", "Bodomzor", "Shahristan" in the 1990s, the construction was stopped due to the lack of strength of the old technologies due to the high groundwater level after a distance of 200 meters. . However, the construction of the second stage of the metro line began in January 2017 in accordance with the decision of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev on November 7, 2016. The new equipment purchased from Germany is considered to be resistant to underground water, and it was passed through the watery place by laying reinforced concrete tubing.
