🇰🇷 Yun Seok-yol arrested

Today, January 15, South Korean President Yun Seok-yol was arrested. Yun Seok-yol released a video message before his arrest, saying that he considered the arrest "illegal" but decided to obey investigators and police to prevent bloodshed. Yun was arrested on a second attempt. The first attempt took place on January 3, when investigators who went to arrest Yun Seok-yol failed to arrest him due to resistance from Yun's supporters.
In early December, the South Korean president unsuccessfully tried to impose martial law in the country, after which the parliament accused him of attempting to incite rebellion and on December 14, impeached the head of state.
