“You truly love your people,” says Saudi investor to Mirziyoyev

During the groundbreaking ceremony for the new international airport in Tashkent region, Muhammad Abunayyan, chairman of ACWA Power (Saudi Arabia), praised the dedication of the Uzbek government led by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

He stated that the reforms and progress achieved in Uzbekistan over the past eight years “are what many countries have failed to accomplish in centuries.”

“I’ve met with 24 world leaders, but I’ve never seen one who loves his people as sincerely as you do. That’s why your people love you,” said Abunayyan.

He also expressed gratitude to the Uzbek government for creating equal opportunities for investors and promoting transparency.

“Your government works 18–20 hours a day, seven days a week — such dedication I’ve seen only in Uzbekistan and Saudi Arabia,” he said.

According to Abunayyan, Uzbekistan is becoming increasingly attractive not only for investors, but also for tourists and international partners.

📍 Note: The New Tashkent Airport project is being implemented under a public-private partnership with Vision Invest (Saudi Arabia), Sojitz (Japan), and Incheon International Airport Corporation (South Korea). The first phase, worth $2.5 billion, will allow the airport to handle 20 million passengers and 129,000 tons of cargo annually.
