Many social and regional programs aimed at improving the health of the population and increasing the quality of life are being implemented in our country. In particular, in the last six years, 14 trillion 500 billion soums have been allocated from the state budget to the drinking water sector, or 6 times more than in the previous period. 31,000 kilometers of drinking water and sewage networks were laid, 1,200 water structures were constructed and repaired. As a result of these works, for the first time, clean drinking water entered the homes of 6.5 million people in a thousand neighborhoods. However, it is still necessary to improve drinking water supply in 30 districts and 1,400 neighborhoods. It is necessary to find a source of clean water for them. In many cases, water is wasted, and there is no accurate account of consumption. Some pumps, special equipment belonging to industry enterprises are outdated. Such problems were discussed at the critical meeting and necessary measures were determined. "Uzsuvtaminot" joint-stock company was assigned the task of building and repairing 12,000 kilometers of network and 1,300 water facilities by the end of this year. Due to this, 1,100,000 residents in 145 neighborhoods will enjoy centralized drinking water for the first time, and the supply of 2,000 neighborhoods will be improved. Governors of the provinces were instructed to develop a program for the next year together with people's deputies and to include it in the government's decision. It was emphasized that special attention should be paid to 30 districts with low water supply. Implementation of such projects as improvement of drinking water supply in Khoshrabot district, reconstruction of sewage systems in Bukhara and Jizzakh cities, Gulistan, Yangiyer and Shirin cities were considered. An example in this regard is that the cost of works in Bukhara has been optimized. In particular, 75 million dollars of the 281 million dollar project on cleaning and reconstruction of the sewage system in the city of Bukhara were saved. 1150 kilometers of water and 117 kilometers of sewage networks can be built with this money. It was said that it is important to optimize the costs of such projects, to direct the saved funds to the improvement of the water supply and sewage system in that area. Officials and regional governors were given instructions on technical and economic aspects of another 24 prospective projects. Measures to replace water pumps with energy-saving ones, financial stabilization of industry enterprises were also determined.
