Yandex Uzbekistan acquires Allplay online cinema

Yandex Uzbekistan has acquired a 100 percent stake in the Allplay platform, which provides online cinema and television services. The transaction price was not disclosed. The service will be included in the Yandex Plus subscription ecosystem.

According to Yandex Uzbekistan, the deal includes 100 percent of the shares of Anyway and Allmedia Safe Service, which allow users to use the Allplay online cinema.

The purchase price was not disclosed. The company said that the deal was approved by all regulatory documents, including a decision by the Competition Committee of Uzbekistan. Yandex also emphasized that the Allplay brand will not be closed: it will soon be updated and become part of the Yandex Plus subscription service ecosystem. The platform will provide access to films and TV series, music, books, sports broadcasts and the company's loyalty program.

Yandex added that the Allplay catalog will be expanded with online cinemas Wink, Start, Kinopoisk, the Amediateka video service, TV channels, as well as other partners:

Allplay began operating in Uzbekistan in 2016. Before the deal, the founders of Allmedia Safe Service were Grant Bagradovich Sarkisov and Ramil Raliyevich Rafikov (50 percent each). The company is now owned by Plus Entertainment Services Holding Ltd, registered in Dubai (UAE). It is part of the international Yango Group group of companies, which owns the Yandex Uzbekistan business.

In August 2025, the Competition Committee recognized Allplay as an operator with a dominant position in the market of online streaming platforms and online cinemas in Uzbekistan.

In October 2024, Yandex Uzbekistan acquired part of the assets of the Express24 delivery service, thereby increasing its share in the market of food delivery aggregators to 87.5 percent at that time.
