Xi Jinping visits North Korea for the first time in 7 years

On June 8 of this year, President of the People's Republic of China Xi Jinping arrived in Pyongyang, the capital of North Korea, for a two-day official state visit. This is his first visit to North Korea since 2019.

It is noted that the visit was made to strengthen strategic cooperation between Beijing and Pyongyang, develop trade and economic ties, and discuss regional security issues. The parties planned to hold talks on bilateral relations and the political situation in the region at this meeting.

For information, North Korean leader Kim Jong-un last visited China in September 2025. He participated in a military parade in Beijing dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the victory in World War II.
