Xi Jinping in the United States
Xi Jinping and his wife, Peng Liyuan, arrived in Washington on September 23. They were welcomed by Trump and First Lady Melania Trump at the foot of the aircraft's stairs.
Xi Jinping and Trump shook hands beside the plane and conversed for a few minutes. A red carpet nearly 30 meters long was laid out to welcome the guests.
Xi Jinping's three-day state visit to the U.S. will include an official welcoming ceremony at the White House, talks between the two leaders, and a state dinner. This marks Xi Jinping's first state visit to the U.S. since 2015.
