World War II participants to be awarded a one-time cash prize of 30 million soums

On April 20 of this year, at a meeting chaired by Shavkat Mirziyoyev, it was announced that on the occasion of the Day of Memory and Honor, each of the participants of the Second World War and disabled people will be awarded a one-time cash prize of 30 million soums. It was also decided to honor veterans, improve their living conditions, and hold spiritual and educational events under the slogan "Duty, courage, fortitude!" within the framework of the holiday. In addition, proposals were supported to double the bonuses for years of service for officers and to increase the salaries of soldiers and sergeants serving on a contract basis by 10%. The meeting discussed issues of increasing the combat readiness of troops and training military personnel based on a modern system. It is noted that currently, 4 higher educational institutions and 2 higher military educational institutions are training reserve and reserve officers in 42 specialties. In addition, it was proposed to establish 5 more military training centers at Urgench, Termez, Andijan State Universities, Samarkand Institute of Economics and Service, and Andijan State Medical Institute. It is also planned to establish a system of training officers on the basis of a 3-year bachelor's degree in military education up to the call-up in higher educational institutions. For the first time, military training programs for clinical residency and master's students will be introduced at the Military Medical Institute. The President supported these proposals and signed the relevant documents.
