World Cup winner Samuel Umtiti retires
2018 World Cup winner and French defender Samuel Umtiti could be retiring at the age of 31. He has not played since January 2024 and is currently a free agent.
Umtiti visited his former club Lyon's training ground today. He is reportedly filming a personal video there - possibly a farewell video.
Umtiti has played for Barcelona, Lyon and Lille, and has won the World Cup with France. Now he is preparing to quietly retire from football.
