World Cup 2026: Uzbekistan loses 1-3 to Colombia in debut
In the first round of Group K of the World Cup, the Uzbekistan national team played against Colombia at the Azteca Stadium in Mexico City and lost 1-3.
In the first half, Colombia opened the scoring in the 41st minute. In the second half, Uzbekistan restored the balance with a goal by Abbosbek Fayzullayev in the 61st minute - this was Uzbekistan's first goal in the history of the World Cup.
However, Colombia took the lead again in the 66th minute and later scored a third goal to consolidate the victory.
Thus, Uzbekistan ended its first match at the World Cup with a defeat.
