The World Bank Group has announced a new five-year Partnership Framework with Kyrgyzstan. It defines the strategic focus of interaction in the areas of job creation, natural resource management, and improving human capital indicators. The Partnership Framework Strategy (PPP), which was discussed today by the World Bank's Board of Executive Directors, is a selective and flexible program of support from the World Bank.
"The World Bank has been a reliable partner of the Kyrgyz Republic for 30 years. The new Partnership Framework Program is in line with the National Development Strategy of the Kyrgyz Republic until 2040 and the National Development Program for 2022-2026. The Partnership Framework with the World Bank will strengthen the work of the Cabinet of Ministers to modernize the economy, promote inclusive growth and build a more prosperous future for all," said Almaz Baketayev, Minister of Finance of Kyrgyzstan.
The RPP is based on extensive analytical work by the World Bank, including an updated Comprehensive Country Diagnosis, discussions with the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan, and consultations with stakeholders across the country.
"The World Bank is proud to support the Kyrgyz Republic's ambitious and well — formulated reform agenda," said Tatiana Proskuryakova, World Bank Regional Director for Central Asia. "In accordance with the new Partnership Framework, we will support the country's economic transformation through consultations, technical assistance and planned project financing worth about $ 500 million. New investments will focus on priority sectors-energy, water resources and agriculture-to create a better and more sustainable future for the citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic."
