Working Mothers to Receive Benefits Until Their Child Turns One

In Uzbekistan, working mothers will receive benefits from the Social Insurance Fund until their child reaches the age of one.

This was announced at a meeting chaired by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev. The new system is aimed at helping parents who are engaged in childcare maintain employment and income.

In addition, when including families in need in the “Social Registry,” factors such as disability, having many children, chronic illnesses and other circumstances will be taken into account, rather than income alone.

Starting next year, families included in the registry will receive 12-month vouchers to cover expenses for their children’s kindergarten, educational centers, transportation and university dormitories.
