Working Hours in Some Tashkent Organizations May Start at 8:00 AM
Tashkent city and district administrations, city departments, and their subordinate divisions are proposing to change working hours to 8:00 AM–5:00 PM.
If the new schedule is introduced, employees will start work one hour earlier and finish one hour earlier than they do now. Lunch breaks will also be adjusted accordingly.
According to the city administration, the change could help align government service hours with residents’ needs, improve coordination between different government agencies, and reduce morning traffic congestion.
A public survey is currently being conducted on the proposal. Its results will be summarized on August 28, after which a final decision will be made.
