Women-Only Carriage to Be Introduced on the Almaty–Tashkent Train from October 1

Kazakhstan’s JSC Passenger Transportation will introduce a women-only carriage on the international Almaty–Tashkent train starting October 1.

Tickets for the new carriage will be sold exclusively to women, and passengers will be served by female conductors. Boys under the age of 7 will also be allowed to travel in the carriage when accompanied by an adult woman.

The Almaty–Tashkent train currently operates daily. With the introduction of the women-only carriage, the number of routes in Kazakhstan featuring such carriages will increase to 14.

Tickets can be purchased at railway ticket offices or online through the official website. Seats in the women-only carriage will be marked with the “JN” designation on the ticket.
