Women in Uzbekistan Live Longer Than Men
As of January 1, 2025, the number of citizens aged 90 and older in Uzbekistan is 18,915. Of them, 66.3% are women and 34.6% are men.
The regions with the highest number of long-lived people are:
Fergana – 2,582, Tashkent city – 2,155, Kashkadarya – 2,011, Surkhandarya – 1,799, and Tashkent region – 1,740.
According to demographic forecasts, the number of long-livers will reach 44,016 by 2030 and 93,971 by 2040.
The average life expectancy increased from 73 years in 2010 to 75.1 years in 2024.
The main factors contributing to longevity are an active social life (76.3%) and genetic inheritance (38.8%).
The oldest person in Uzbekistan is 130-year-old Huvaydo momo from Fergana.
