Woman Kept in Barn for 7 Years in Afghanistan
In Afghanistan’s Takhar province, a woman was imprisoned by her husband in a barn for seven years. Her son was left with her about a year ago. She lived completely cut off from the outside world during this time. Following reports from neighbors, the Taliban freed the woman and child and placed them in a hospital.
It should be recalled that earlier in Pakistan, a French woman had been forcibly kept in her husband’s house for 12 years (source).
