Wind power plants with a total capacity of 3,300 megawatts to be launched in Karakalpakstan by 2030

Plans are in place to launch wind power plants with a combined capacity of 3,300 megawatts in Karakalpakstan by 2030. This was announced during a meeting in Nukus, chaired by Shavkat Mirziyoyev, focused on the socio-economic development of Karakalpakstan.

It was noted that 860 megawatts of new energy capacity have been commissioned in the region in recent years. Thanks to wind power plants in Beruni and Karaozak, the share of "green" energy has reached 23 percent.
Yesterday, construction began on a 1,500-megawatt wind power plant in Kungrad, valued at $2.6 billion. The project involves the construction of 1,500 kilometers of high-voltage transmission lines and three 500-kilovolt substations.

By 2030, the aim is to increase the share of "green" energy in Karakalpakstan to 76 percent and establish 400 megawatts of energy storage capacity.
As a result, Karakalpakstan is expected to become a major regional hub for "green" energy production.
