Will the statue of Botir Zakirov be destroyed?

Now it is impossible to erect monumental monuments in honor of living people in Uzbekistan. In this regard, the decision of the Cabinet of Ministers "On measures to improve the procedure for erecting monumental monuments in the Republic of Uzbekistan" was adopted.

The decision was published in the national database of legal documents and entered into force on June 1, 2024.

The resolution does not include any clauses on what to do with the statues that have been installed. Let us remind you that earlier it was reported that the statue of the founder of national pop art, People's Artist of Uzbekistan Botir Zakirov was unveiled in Tashkent.
