The former city-forming enterprise of the city of Istiklol is currently redeveloped, but there are plans to reopen the plant

The enterprise of the state association "Nuri Khovar" does not operate at full capacity. This was stated by the chairman of the city of Istiklol Kayum Mahmudzoda during a press conference.

He recalled that the enterprise, previously called Zarya Vostoka, was a city-forming enterprise in the Soviet years, but now its main capacities have been mothballed. He mentioned that in the past the main product of the plant was military equipment. Currently, it mainly produces clothing, metallurgical, polymer and rubber products. Meanwhile, there are plans to reopen the plant together with the Russian side. A delegation of representatives of the Russian Federation from the relevant ministry has already visited the city.

It should be noted that Zarya Vostoka was founded in 1968 as a branch of the Biysk Chemical Plant, and after 1970 it became an independent facility and was one of the largest enterprises in the republic, as well as the city-forming company of the city of Taboshar (now Istiklol).

Industrial production increased in Sughd

Later, Zarya Vostoka changed its name to State Unitary Enterprise Nuri Khovar.

This enterprise has great potential for launching various industries and providing jobs for a large number of citizens.
