Zhaparov spoke at the Central Asia-China summit in Xi'an (PRC).

The President quoted a Chinese proverb: "If you want to get rich, build a road." He outlined the significance of the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway construction project, which will become an important link in the One Belt, One Road.

"The implementation of this strategic project will bring the region out of the transport impasse, connect about four billion people, expand the geography of transportation from Asia through Turkey to Europe, the Middle East, Iran, the countries of the Persian Gulf and North Africa," the president said.

The head of Kyrgyzstan also stressed that the joint implementation of the One Belt, One Road project and its integration with the national development strategies of the Central Asian countries would give a powerful economic effect.

"The growth driver of the economies of Central Asia is the development of regional transit, transport, and logistics potential. It is its primary active development that stimulates integration into the world economy and ensures connectivity within the region," the president said.
