This was stated by the head of the Committee for Religious Affairs Sulaimon Davlatzoda at the reporting press conference.

According to him, this situation has developed because of the high cost of air tickets.

He noted that in Uzbekistan the cost of air tickets is cheaper than in Tajikistan.

But in general, the proposed package of services to make the Hajj to Mecca is inexpensive, the head of the department specified.

He also said that there are a number of intermediaries in Tajikistan that offer pilgrimage tours to Saudi Arabia at low prices, but their activities are illegal.

Davlatzoda recalled that the Committee on Religious Affairs, as well as a number of accredited companies, are responsible for sending Tajiks who wish to make the Hajj.

According to the religious department, in 2023 more than 4.5 thousand citizens of Tajikistan went to Mecca. The cost of the trip per person is 59 thousand somoni.
