Lionsgate plans to begin filming the live-action film adaptation of the “Naruto” manga in the first half of 2027. This was reported by The Hollywood Reporter.

An international casting process for the film is currently underway. The main focus is on casting actors for the roles of the members of Team 7, including Naruto, Sasuke and Sakura.

The film will be directed and written by Destin Daniel Cretton, who is known for Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Cretton has said that he wants the film to portray Naruto’s journey from an outcast child to a true hero.

The Naruto manga, published from 1999 to 2014, has sold more than 250 million copies worldwide, becoming one of the most popular Japanese franchises in history. The film’s release date has not yet been announced.
