On May 22, 3 people died in the Saykhunabad district of Syrdarya region due to toxic gas in a well. The incident occurred in the house of a resident living in the Dustlik neighborhood of the district. It turned out that the homeowner had climbed into a 5-meter well to clean it. As a result, the resident died due to the toxic gas that had accumulated in the well. His son and neighbor, who climbed in after him to save him, also died at the scene. Two more people lost consciousness due to the toxic gas and were given medical assistance and taken to the hospital.
Investigations are underway into the incident, pending an investigation.
