Citizens of Tajikistan have been talking about restrictions on electricity supply for several days now.
The Barki Tojik company explained the problem by publishing an appeal to the population of the country.
In the message they noted that they are not interested in limiting electricity supplies.
The restrictions are being introduced due to a sharp increase in electricity consumption.
According to company representatives, water and energy resources are in short supply, which is why such measures had to be introduced.
It is noted that the saved resources will be used in winter.
The statement said that more than 90% of electricity is produced from hydroelectric power plants, and its volume is closely related to river water.
Thus, with the onset of the cold season and the decrease in river flow and water resources in the Vakhsh River formation basin, as well as the annual increase in the need for electricity in the country's social and economic sectors, this causes seasonal shortages.

“This situation requires taking additional measures to provide electricity to the population and the national economy in the winter,” noted the press service of Barki Tojik.
Thus, according to the calculations of industry experts, a seasonal shortage of electricity is predicted this year, and the population and enterprises are urged to be economical.
