Ingredients:
3 kg of cabbage
2 cups of rice
300 g of minced beef
2 onions
5 cloves of garlic
A little parsley
1.5 tablespoons of tomato
1 tablespoon of pepper paste
1 cup of olive or vegetable oil
1 teaspoon of black pepper
half a teaspoon of hot pepper
1 teaspoon of ground mint
1 teaspoon of cumin
For the sauce:
1 full tablespoon of tomato
1 tablespoon of butter
550 ml of water
salt and black pepper
Preparation:
First, prepare the minced cabbage. Finely chop all the ingredients for the minced meat, put them in a bowl and mix well. Remove the core of the cabbage with a knife and carefully separate the leaves. Or, you can put the whole cabbage in a large pot of boiling water and separate the leaves when they soften a little. Softened cabbage leaves are filled with enough minced meat and rolled into a roll.
Then, cabbage rolls are placed in a large tray in a round shape. For the sauce, butter and tomatoes are put in a pan and fried a little. Then water, black pepper and salt are added. The finished sauce is poured over the rolls and covered with
moistened parchment paper and baked in a preheated oven at 190–200°C for 40 minutes. Then, the paper is removed and browned in the oven for another 10 minutes. Our cabbage rolls are ready!
