Water basins and land around rivers in Uzbekistan are leased for tourism services

"A presidential decision aimed at improving the procedure for using water bodies for the needs of the fishing industry and developing fishing and waterside tourism facilities was adopted. According to him, from October 1 of this year, it is decided to rent some places to entrepreneurs through an online auction on the "E-auction" trading platform. In particular, natural and artificial water bodies (reservoirs) belonging to the state are allocated for industrial fish breeding, hunting and other purposes stipulated by legislation. In addition, natural and artificial water bodies (reservoirs) and non-agricultural land around the river are leased for the following purposes: - organization of beach zones by the water; - recreational fishing, fishing; - provision of boating and water travel services; - trade of fish products, fish meals; - organization of catering and other tourism services. It is also noted that for these purposes, it will be allocated for the placement of light construction devices (a complex of grass camps, containers). In 2024, it is planned to grow 900 thousand tons of fish, to intensify 35,240 hectares of artificial water reservoirs, to grow 513,600 tons of fish, and to start intensive fish farming in 9,000 households. In addition, from 2024, as part of the "Every family is an entrepreneur" program, unsecured loans of up to 50 million soums will be allocated to residents and entrepreneurs for the implementation of fishery projects.
