Videos showing security personnel detaining an individual circulated on social media, accompanied by reports claiming the person was a suicide bomber. According to Saudi officials, the man was detained for harassing passersby and causing panic; appropriate measures have been taken against him, and the case has been referred to the public prosecutor's office.
Saudi security authorities stated that other claims circulating regarding the incident in Mecca are unfounded.
Meanwhile, the Saudi-led coalition announced that a drone attack was carried out on September 29 against an electrical distribution station supplying power to the Prophet's Mosque in Medina. The coalition identified the Houthis as the perpetrators of the attack. Although one transformer was disabled as a result, there was no disruption to the power grid.
The Houthis, for their part, denied the accusation that they had previously directed a drone toward Mecca.
