According to the press service of the Kremlin, Russian President Vladimir Putin held an official meeting with President Kasim-Jomart Tokayev at the residence of the Kazakh leader in Astana.
It is noted that during the negotiations, Kasim-Jomart Tokayev stated that Kazakhstan and Russia are strategic partners and allies, and that they will cooperate with great prospects in the field of agriculture. He noted that in 2022, the turnover of agricultural products will increase and reach 3.6 billion dollars. He also noted that Kazakhstan and Russia account for almost 10% of the world's arable land and 9% of pastures and hayfields.
Vladimir Putin noted that trade and investment exchanges with Kazakhstan in the field of agriculture are "growing dynamically" and that Russia will continue to supply Kazakhstan with agricultural products.
The President of Kazakhstan believes that his country should not compete with Russia in the fertilizer market. He said it is important for countries to coordinate efforts to ensure food security. Tokayev offered Vladimir Putin to work in agricultural innovation centers.
The presidents also hold dialogue face-to-face and in an expanded format - with the participation of delegations. In addition, a number of documents are planned to be signed. According to the Kremlin, the leaders of Russia and Kazakhstan will discuss the prospects of bilateral cooperation and current international issues.
