The damage of these bottles was so great that only 2 out of 10 children who used "Alexandria" would survive. Thus, these bottles became known as the "killer bottle" and did not go out of sale until the 1920s. Later, banana-shaped bottles were introduced, which were easier to clean and sterilize.
