Venezuelan opposition leader presents Trump with her Nobel Peace Prize

Earlier, Venezuelan opposition leader Maria Corina Machado said she would soon return to the country, run for president and personally present her Nobel Peace Prize to Trump. On January 15, she met with Trump at the White House and presented him with her Nobel Peace Prize medal as a symbolic gift. Reuters reported this.
Trump described the event as a "sign of mutual respect" and said she would keep the medal. Machado, in turn, interpreted the gift as a recognition of Trump's efforts to free the Venezuelan people.
At the same time, the Nobel Prize officially remains with Machado. The Norwegian Nobel Institute noted that the prize cannot be transferred or withdrawn.
Currently, Venezuela's interim president, Delcy Rodriguez, is strengthening his position with the support of Trump.
