Former Russian boxer and MP Nikolai Valuev has echoed philosopher Alexander Dugin's views, saying that the "special operations" in Ukraine should be carried out in the former Soviet republics, including Central Asia. He noted that "sweets" have not helped for the past 30 years, and now "cruel measures" are needed, and called on young people to get physically fit.
In response to these views, Uzbek boxer Ruslan Chagaev sharply criticized his opponent Valuev, whom he had previously defeated, and expressed his readiness to fight him again if necessary. Chagaev also noted that relations between Uzbekistan and Russia are currently good, but that people like Valuev are trying to disrupt this.
