Value of Stolen Items from the Louvre Museum Estimated at €88 Million

The nine valuable items stolen from the Louvre Museum in Paris — belonging to French emperors — have been valued at €88 million.
Among them are Empress Eugénie’s diamond- and pearl-encrusted tiara, a brooch, sapphire earrings, and an emerald necklace gifted by Napoleon.
Prosecutor Laure Béco stated that the thieves would not be able to recover the true value of the jewelry even if they melted it down, expressing hope that the pieces would not be destroyed.

The theft was carried out in just four minutes, with the criminals entering the building disguised as museum staff.
