UzJOKU Rector Comments on Students Not Attending Classes

On February 16, Rector Sherzodkhon Kudratkhodja commented on the fact that dozens of students who were not wearing uniforms and were late for classes at the Uzbek University of Journalism and Mass Communications were not allowed to attend classes.
The Rector criticized the fact that this issue was brought to social networks and emphasized that the situation should be resolved within the framework of internal regulations. He said that instead of admitting their guilt, some students interpreted the situation differently.
According to the university's press service, the dress code at the university is established in the Code of Ethics. At the beginning of each academic year, students sign an agreement stating their obligation to comply with internal regulations, including dress codes.
Nazokat Abdukunduzova, a representative of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation, said that some universities have financial and academic independence and called on students to follow the established internal regulations.
