Uzbeks in Turkey warned about criminal groups promising large sums of money

Recently, some criminal groups have been promising large sums of money to Uzbek citizens and trying to use them as intermediaries in smuggling illegal immigrants to the European Union, mainly Greece, by sea. Therefore, the Consulate General of Uzbekistan in Istanbul has urged citizens in this country not to believe in various illegal promises and recommendations. Citizens involved in such illegal activities are subject to criminal liability under Turkish law and face up to 10 years in prison.
