"Dunyo" agency reports that 57 container houses bought and equipped at the expense of citizens of Uzbekistan, including labor migrants in Turkey, were handed over to the residents of Hatay region of Turkey.

It was reported that during the event, Uzbek diplomats once again expressed their deep sympathy to the Turkish people who suffered from the earthquake that occurred on February 6, 2023. It was noted that the Uzbek people have helped their Turkish brothers since the first day of the tragedy, and that the delivery of these containers on the eve of Eid al-Fitr is the best solution to solve the housing issue.

Special attention is paid to the initiatives of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev to restore the Khatai region, including the construction of new housing and other infrastructure facilities, which will become another bright symbol of close friendship and solidarity.

Mayor of Antakya district Izzettin Yilmaz noted that the Turkish people will never forget the help provided by Uzbekistan from the first hours of the tragedy. It was emphasized that rescuers and military doctors from Uzbekistan risked their lives, worked in the most difficult conditions, showed courage and professionalism, and provided comprehensive assistance to the injured.

At the end of March, it was announced that 100 residential containers will be installed as part of Uzbekistan's charity in Ovakent village of Hatay region, which was affected by the earthquakes in February. Such modular houses will be installed with the direct support of the Seyhun Education and Culture Association, which was established in 2016 by the Uzbek diaspora in Istanbul. Each of them can accommodate one family.
