Uzbeks denied entry to UAE for unknown reasons

On November 30, 31 Uzbek citizens who flew on a Wizz Air flight from Tashkent to Abu Dhabi were denied entry to the UAE for unknown reasons. They were not released from the airport and were stranded for more than a day. Some of them returned to Tashkent. The Uzbek embassy in the UAE said the situation was under control, but the passengers did not see any diplomatic representatives and were not provided with any assistance.
According to Gazeta.uz, the 31 people, including women, children and the elderly, were released. The men, aged between 20 and 40, were detained. None of them was given an explanation for the reasons for such actions. A Wizz Air representative said that all of the denied citizens were issued return tickets and are being brought to Uzbekistan.
