Uzbekistan was considered the most innovative country in Central Asia

The UN Global Innovation Index 2025 has been published. Among the 139 countries, Uzbekistan ranked 79th and became the leader in the region. In 2024, the country was in 83rd place. Kazakhstan is ranked 81st, Kyrgyzstan is ranked 96th, Tajikistan is recorded at 108th, Turkmenistan is not ranked. World leaders are Switzerland (1st), Sweden (2nd) and the United States (3rd). China moved up to 10th, dropping Germany to 11th.
According to the report, Uzbekistan ranked 69th in “investments in innovation” (higher than last year), and 92nd in “results from innovation” (lower than last year), and 8 indicators improved, with 3 deteriorating.

The Global Innovation Index is evaluated on the basis of the innovative potential of countries, the development of knowledge and technologies, and the business environment.
