In 2022, Uzbekistan took the 21st place among the countries recognized as the best in the Global Hunger Index. The countries of Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Chile are at the top of the ranking, while the lowest indicators are observed in the countries of Madagascar, the Central African Republic, and Yemen.
This year, 121 countries participated in the Global Hunger Index. In this index, Uzbekistan ranked 21st among the best countries with 5.6 points. This information is presented on the official website of the Global Hunger Index.
This indicator means that the country will not suffer from food shortages. This index will be 24.2 in 2020; in 2007 - 15.4; In 2014, it was 8.3.
The countries of Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Chile are at the top of the global hunger index. The smallest indicators are observed in the countries of Madagascar, the Central African Republic and Yemen.

This index is determined by aggregating four indicators for each country: the percentage of the population that is undernourished; the percentage of underweight children under five years of age; the percentage of children under the age of five; mortality rate of children under five years of age.
The Global Hunger Index figures are not calculated for non-existent countries and some high-income countries, least populated countries and non-independent territories.
