Uzbekistan to launch first astronaut into space in 2028
Uzbekistan's first national astronaut is planned to be launched into space by October 2028. This was announced by Muhiddin Ibragimov, deputy director of the Uzbekcosmos agency.
He said that the flight will last 14 days. Negotiations are currently underway with the United States, Russia and China.
A special government commission will be created to select astronauts. Candidates must be between 27 and 40 years old, have a higher education, be 160-190 cm tall and weigh 50-95 kg. Knowledge of foreign languages is also required.
