Uzbekistan to introduce mandatory animal registration

Starting August 7, Uzbekistan will implement mandatory identification and registration of animals kept or bred by individuals and legal entities.

Under the new law:

🔹 Cattle, sheep, goats, and camels must be registered within 14 days of birth;
🔹 Horses must be registered within four months of birth;
🔹 Pigs must be registered within one month of birth;
🔹 Dogs and cats must be registered within three months of birth.

Animals imported into Uzbekistan must be registered within 21 days of entering the country.

In addition, animals that are slaughtered, die, or are taken out of the country must be removed from the register within seven days.

The Committee for Veterinary and Livestock Development will be responsible for carrying out the identification and registration process. The law also requires animal owners to register their animals on time, update the registration whenever ownership changes, and refrain from keeping animals that have not been officially identified.
