Uzbekistan Temporarily Bans Import of Mandarins and Pineapples from China

Uzbekistan has imposed a temporary ban on the import of mandarins and pineapples from China after quarantine pests were обнаружены in these fruits. The pests were found in around 20 shipments, and the Chinese side has been notified.

Laboratory analyses revealed quarantine pests such as the citrus whitefly (Dialeurodes citri Ashmead), the oriental citrus scale insect (Unaspis yanonensis Kuwana), and the pineapple mealybug (Dysmicoccus brevipes Cockerell).

During the ban period, quarantine permits for these fruits will not be issued. The measure was introduced to prevent the entry and spread of dangerous pests.
