Uzbekistan sets goals for using artificial intelligence and digitalization in all sectors

Shavkat Mirziyoyev reviewed a presentation on reforms and priorities in the field of artificial intelligence and digitalization. The presentation noted that, in accordance with the "Uzbekistan - 2030" strategy, the goal is to increase the export of IT services to $ 5 billion, provide employment to 300 thousand young people and take a place among the world's 30 leading countries in the development of e-government. In recent years, the sector has developed rapidly, its share in the economy has increased significantly, and thousands of new jobs have been created. It is noted that about 100 projects in artificial intelligence are currently being implemented. For example, the use of AI in industry reduces energy and costs and increases efficiency. A powerful infrastructure has been launched in this direction, including GPU clusters.
In the future, it is planned to widely introduce AI solutions in medicine, agriculture, transport and other sectors, systematize more than 130 databases. Special attention is also paid to supporting startups, expanding IT-Park branches, and developing digital skills of young people. The priority tasks until 2030 are to improve education and infrastructure, provide schools with modern equipment and the Internet, increase the share of local IT products, and strengthen cybersecurity.
