Uzbekistan’s Tourism Services Exports Reach $4.8 Billion

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev reviewed a presentation on the results achieved in the fields of tourism and culture, as well as future plans.

During the meeting, it was noted that in 2025 concerts by Jennifer Lopez in Tashkent, Black Coffee in Khiva, and Andrea Bocelli in Samarkand were held. During these events, hotel occupancy rates in the host cities exceeded 90 percent, positively impacting revenues in the tourism and service sectors.

According to the data presented, in 2025 the number of tourists visiting Uzbekistan exceeded 11 million, while tourism services exports reached $4.8 billion. The number of countries granted visa-free access was also increased to 94.

The 43rd session of the UNESCO General Conference was successfully held in Samarkand with the participation of more than 3,000 delegates from 190 countries. As a result of the event, a “roadmap” was approved to implement Uzbekistan’s initiatives in the fields of cultural heritage protection, education, and the creative economy.

Nearly one million people visited Uzbekistan’s “Garden of Knowledge” pavilion at EXPO 2025 in Japan. Preparations are currently underway for participation in EXPO 2030 in Saudi Arabia, where a new pavilion covering 3,600 square meters is planned.

The first Contemporary Art Biennale held in Bukhara also received high praise, attracting more than 1.8 million visitors. The event brought together 70 artists and curators from over 40 countries. It was noted that Uzbekistan’s regular participation in the Venice Biennale has contributed to an increase in tourist arrivals from Italy.
