Uzbekistan's railway network is expanding: a new track and 15 routes will be launched

A major project to expand the railway infrastructure in Uzbekistan will be implemented in 2026-2030. According to the information presented to the President, it is planned to increase the volume of passenger and freight transportation in the sector by at least two times.

The main directions of the project:

🔹 151 km of new railways will be built.

🔹 182 km of existing tracks will be electrified.

🔹 27 stations and 1,000 km of railway network will be modernized.

Electrified routes: Nurofshon - Piskent - Boka - Bekobod - Boyovut - Yangiyer, Khovos - Dashtobod, Kumkurgan - Kudukli, Samarkand - Urgut, Baitkurgan - Parkent.
Also, the capacity of the Tashkent - Samarkand, Tokimachi - Angren and Angren - Pop routes will be increased.
Suburban trains: In addition to the existing 40 routes, 15 new routes will be opened. These include Tashkent - Nurofshon - Akhangaron - Angren, Navoi - Zarafshon - Uchkuduk, Nukus - Shovot - Urgench - Khiva.
High-speed trains: An order was given to speed up the commissioning of a new 102-km railway line on the Navoi - Bukhara route. It was noted that this will significantly reduce transportation time and costs.
