Uzbekistan’s diplomas are now recognized in 38 foreign countries

According to the Agency for Assessment of Knowledge and Skills, Uzbekistan has become the first country in Central Asia to ratify the “Global Convention on the Recognition of Qualifications concerning Higher Education.” Member countries of the convention recognize each other’s accredited diplomas directly. Currently, the convention includes 38 member states such as Japan, South Korea, Australia, New Zealand, France, the United Kingdom, Finland, Norway, Sweden, Iceland, Hungary, Estonia, Lithuania, and Moldova.
Diplomas from countries that are not part of the convention — such as Russia, Tajikistan, and Kyrgyzstan — will continue to be recognized in Uzbekistan according to existing national regulations.

Uzbekistan’s full membership in the convention will take effect three months after the instrument of confirmation is submitted to UNESCO.
