Uzbekistan performs its first liver transplant on a 7-month-old infant

For the first time in Uzbekistan, a liver transplant was performed on a 7-month-old baby. The surgery took place at the National Children’s Medical Center, with the mother serving as the donor.
According to specialists, such complex surgical procedures are performed in very few countries around the world. Both the infant and the mother underwent full medical examinations at the center prior to the operation. The surgery was completed without complications. The baby’s condition is stable, and he is expected to be discharged home soon.
