The Presidential Decree "On measures to further develop the sport of karate (WKF)" (No. PQ-356, 03.11.2023) was adopted According to the decision, the main directions for the development of the sport of karate (WKF) in 2023-2026 were determined. Including: "Karate for all" program is implemented in the regions so that all strata of the population can practice karate; "Kids karate" project will be launched in kindergartens. According to the decision, the National Karate Federation of Uzbekistan will be reorganized into the Association of Uzbekistan Karate (WKF), and the activities of its regional divisions will be established. Also, a parakarate department will be established within the structure of the National Paralympic Committee of Uzbekistan for the development of parakarate among people with limited physical abilities and disabilities. In 2023-2026, it is planned to increase the number of permanent karate practitioners (WKF) to 55 thousand people in Uzbekistan (including 40 thousand people this year). Every year from 2024: ▫️ Karate festival dedicated to the World Karate Day on October 7 in all regions of the republic; ▫️ prestigious "Uzbekistan Open" international tournament in karate and parakarate; ▫️ three-level (district/city, regional and republican) championships and cups in specified age categories; ▫️ The "Championship of Uzbekistan" competition will be held between state sports and educational institutions in karate. According to the decision, the karate development center of Uzbekistan will be established within the framework of the Ministry of Youth Policy and Sports. This center is the main sports base for holding training sessions of national teams of all age categories. By March 1, 2024, information on all athletes practicing karate in places, as well as participating in competitions, will be fully digitized. From the 2024/2025 academic year, the parameters of the state order for admission to the bachelor's education course in karate and the master's specialty at the State University of Physical Education and Sports of Uzbekistan will be doubled compared to the current academic year.
