Uzbekistan is implementing major projects to develop transport and logistics infrastructure and modernize regions. This was announced at the Tashkent International Investment Forum. It was noted that major investment projects have been launched in the transport and logistics sector. In particular, a new Tashkent International Airport with a capacity of serving 20 million passengers per year is being built with the participation of Saudi investors. Investors were invited to actively participate in projects to build high-speed highways, multifunctional logistics centers and "dry ports".

The forum also paid special attention to issues of regional development. As the population of Uzbekistan approaches 40 million, large-scale programs are being implemented on urbanization and urban development. According to plans, by 2040, the volume of housing construction will double, and the level of urbanization will increase from 51 percent to 65 percent.

Also, near the capital, the New Tashkent megapolis is being built, designed for 2 million people. Projects have also been launched to transform Andijan, Namangan and Samarkand into cities with a population of millions. According to reports, the housing construction market in the country generates a demand of at least $ 10 billion per year. In addition, it is planned to implement public-private partnership projects in the infrastructure sector with investors worth a total of $ 27 billion
